Transgender Committee

This is a committee of district stakeholders, administrators,  teachers and support staff. 

The gender identity committee is representative of administration and staff from early childhood through adult programming, which will meet to ensure students are protected from discrimination on the basis of gender pursuant to Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 and the Minnesota Human Rights Act. 


The purpose of this committee is to provide equal educational opportunity for all students and to prohibit discrimination on the basis of gender or sexual orientation.  The committee will:

  • Establish and propose an administrative procedure for transgender and/or non binary students

  • Design training to be provided annually to all staff for consistency of process and language across the district

  • Review the administrative procedure and training annually to ensure it is in line with state and federal laws.
