2014 Cooper High School graduate Tytiana Reid is one of Robbinsdale’s many remarkable students.

Currently a student at the University of Winona, Tytiania is giving back to Robbinsdale Area Schools by teaching at the Youth Summit. Tytiania knows just how vital it is for students—especially middle school students—to have someone to help show them the way.

In middle school, “I was a kid who was kind of hopeless, didn’t know what I wanted to do, couldn’t see myself doing a lot,” she said. “So then I started going to a lot of camps – leadership camps – and that’s where I found my voice.”

While attending the same Youth Summit, she experienced a Remarkable Robbinsdale Moment:  “Something I’ll never forget is I learned integrity, and how important it is to love and appreciate everybody and their differences,” Reid said of the summit she attended as a student.

Through her work, she hopes to impart some of these values on the youth who attend this year’s workshop.

“If you value something, you have to value it in every way of your life,” she said. “If you’re a person of integrity, if you’re going to stand up for somebody that’s being bullied, you should stand up for somebody who’s being bullied and stand up and tell the class that it’s not O.K. to disrespect a substitute.”

Tytiana is Robbinsdale. At Robbinsdale we value the differences that make all of our students unique. We approach our work each and every day with individual focus on each and every student’s infinite potential.

Make your mark. Be like Tytiania. Be Robbinsdale Remarkable.
