IB MYP at Robbinsdale Middle School

The mission of Robbinsdale Middle School is to provide a safe, positive and caring environment that helps all students develop into principled, lifelong learners and critical thinkers. We will prepare students for success in a global community and to understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right. The aim of all IB programs is to develop internationally minded people who, recognizing their common humanity and shared guardianship of the planet, help to create a better and more peaceful world.  As IB Learners at Robbinsdale Middle School we strive to be: Inquirers, Knowledgeable,Thinkers, Communicators, Principled, Open-Minded, Caring, Risk-takers, Balanced, and Reflective. Our IB MYP features the development of approaches to learning skills which include communication, collaboration, self-management, research, and thinking skills. All RMS students have classes in all subject groups: Arts, Design, Individuals & Societies, Language & Literature, Language Acquisition (World Language), Mathematics, Physical Education & Health, Reading and Science. Each of these classes is taught through our MN State Standards as well as the IB concepts and global contexts within inquiry-based learning experiences. The subject groups are connected through the global contexts and key concepts, which support the interdisciplinary nature of the MYP.
