Gifted and Talented Education Mission Statement

The mission of Gifted and Talented Education is to integrate specialized services and provide differentiated instructional programming so that gifted and talented learners reach their full potential.

RAS Definition of Gifted and Talented The potential to be gifted and/or talented exists in all populations and across all economic levels.

Gifted learners demonstrate unique advanced abilities to problem solve, synthesize knowledge and high levels of divergent, critical, logical, and abstract thinking. These learners are capable of high performance on reasoning tasks when compared to others of similar age, experience and environment.

Talented learners demonstrate exceptional achievement and/or potential in one or more academic areas, creativity and visual and performing arts. Exceptional achievement includes, but is not limited to, working well beyond grade level and possessing and/or applying knowledge in transformative, complex ways.

Our program and service design is based on the All-Some-Few model shown below.
